Biography

Holds a Masters Degree in Development Studies. He has over 15 years of working experience in various senior and executive management roles in the public sector from Gauteng Government since 2008 and 2015 as Director: Service Delivery Monitoring and Evaluation and later Chief Director: Executive Support and the last position was Chief Director: Policy, Strategy, Monitoring and Evaluation. He later took up a position as Executive: Development Management and Operations at the Housing Development Agency from 2016 and later joined the Nelson Mandela Bay Metropolitan Municipality as a Chief Operating Officer in 2020. He has had periods of secondment from Gauteng Government in 2014 and from the Competition Commission of South Africa in 2024 to assist the Nelson Mandela Bay Metropolitan Municipality with turnaround as a Director and Executive Director: Human Settlements and Acting City Manager respectively. Mandla joined the Competition Commission of South Africa in 2021.
